  Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes

     October 14, 2024 Ellicottville Town Center

Members Attending: Sue Blesy, Mike Braun, Ed Chapman, Blair Hamilton. Laurie Barrera, Gretchen Plough, Diane Smith, Steve Ward.

  • Call to order and welcome
  • Minutes: The trustees considered the minutes of the September 9, 2024 meeting. Gretchen moved and Ed seconded the motion to accept the minutes. The motion was carried by a unanimous vote.
  • Presentations: None
  • Treasurer’s Report: Laurie reported income of $211.00 for the 9/9/24 to 10/15/24 period. Expenses totaled 3222.97. Sue moved and Gretchen seconded to accept the report. The motion was approved and carried by a unanimous vote. It was voted to renew our CD at 4.5%. Motion was made by Blair and seconded by Laurie.
  • Committees & Project Reports:
    • Technology: No Report
    • Tree Mapping, Inventory,& Signage: No Report
    • Tree Maintenance & Pruning Plan
      • Our deer fencing is complete
    • Ground Infrastructure Maintenance
      • All but the floor is stained in the Gazebo.
      • Steve is going to bring his tractor to mulch up leaves.
      • Town is going to repair the water line at the Al Cox garden and inspect the electric box in the Northrup.
    • Communication:
      • Winter Connections will start back up on December 9, January 13, February 10, March 10,and April 14th, 2025. Coffee and muffins at 9:00a.m.
    • Volunteers:
      • Reminder of our Volunteer Luncheon on October 28, 2024 at Katy’s Fly In.
    • Education Program/ Speakers:
      • November 23 Cornell power Point about pruning trees.
      • Wreath making class December 4th or 5th at 6:30 p.
    • Community Relationships/Outreach:
      • ECS 3rd grade class program was very successful.
      • Great Valley Senior Citizen Arboretum walk was a bust. The weather was not cooperative and only 3 attended.
    • Memorial Programs: No report
    • Town of Ellicottville: No report
    • Field Trips:
      • Ray an Ed attended the American Chestnut Tree Walk on the Jim Brady Woodlot in Olean on September 28th.
    • Unfinished Business:
      • Remember “Giving Tuesday” Day and ask your friends to donate too.
      • Paul is going to work on building a new raised bed for the pollinator garden over the winter.
    • New Business:
      • Going to work with Pat on a design for a new Hydrangea garden on the east side of the pond.
    • Policy and By Laws: No Report
    • Adjournment and new meeting: Sue moved for adjourning the meeting and Laurie seconded the motion. Next meeting is November 11, 2024 at 10:00a.m.
