 Arbor Day Annual Meeting

 April 26, 2024 Ellicottville Town Center

  1. Nan called our annual meeting to order and welcomed twenty plus guests.
  2. Pat Kerl presented our 2023 accomplishments and workshops held during the year at the Arboretum.
  3. Pat reported a total income of $11,735.00 for the year. Expenses totaled $17,188.00 for a total loss of $5453.00.
  4. Mayor John Burrell read the Tree City Proclamation and presented us with a plaque. He spoke of restoration project going on that will involve taking down 20 trees in the village and replanting them. Joe Lowry is in charge of this.
  5. A new slate of trustees were presented for 2024.They are: Blair Hamilton, Mike Braun, Laurie Barrera, Ed Chapman and Steve Ward. A motion was made by Gretchen Plough to accept slate of trustees.
  1. Jake Kelly, District Manager of Cattaraugus County Soil and Water Department spoke on “ Pond Management”
  2. The tree planted this year is the Black Gum – “ Nyssa Sylvatica.” It grows 30’ to 50’ tall and has spectacular red leaves in the fall.
  3. The meeting was adjourned and everyone was treated with refreshments provided by board members.
