Arbor Day Annual Meeting
April 26, 2024 Ellicottville Town Center
- Nan called our annual meeting to order and welcomed twenty plus guests.
- Pat Kerl presented our 2023 accomplishments and workshops held during the year at the Arboretum.
- Pat reported a total income of $11,735.00 for the year. Expenses totaled $17,188.00 for a total loss of $5453.00.
- Mayor John Burrell read the Tree City Proclamation and presented us with a plaque. He spoke of restoration project going on that will involve taking down 20 trees in the village and replanting them. Joe Lowry is in charge of this.
- A new slate of trustees were presented for 2024.They are: Blair Hamilton, Mike Braun, Laurie Barrera, Ed Chapman and Steve Ward. A motion was made by Gretchen Plough to accept slate of trustees.
- Jake Kelly, District Manager of Cattaraugus County Soil and Water Department spoke on “ Pond Management”
- The tree planted this year is the Black Gum – “ Nyssa Sylvatica.” It grows 30’ to 50’ tall and has spectacular red leaves in the fall.
- The meeting was adjourned and everyone was treated with refreshments provided by board members.
