‘Summertime and the living is easy’ so the song goes. Are you looking for some easy ways to brighten up your meals? The Nannen Arboretum Society will be presenting ‘Growing and Cooking with Herbs’ to give you helpful hints on how to grow your own herbs and use them to add new flavors to your cooking.
This informative session will be held on July 12, 2017, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm, at the Ellicottville Town Center building located at the Nannen Arboretum, 28 Parkside Drive, Ellicottville NY. Pat Kerl will introduce you to six basic kitchen herbs; Basil, Chives, Dill, Oregano, Parsley and Thyme and discuss their growing culture, propagation, harvesting and drying. Cheri Reed will prepare a recipe for each of these herbs passing around tasty samples in the process.
The session is free of charge but we would love to know if you plan to attend. Just drop us an email at info@nannenarboretum.com with your name and contact information.
This is the second in a quarterly series of educational programs from the Nannen Arboretum Society. The third session, Pollinators, will be September 20, 2017, with David O’Donnel, President of the Eastern Monarch Butterfly Farm from Clarence NY, as our speaker. Put this date on your calendar now.
